This position calls for a mature and meticulous individual who will be under the general guidance and supervision of the Financial Controller, and within the limits of the established hotel policies and procedures.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the main responsibilities include:
Assisting in the supervision and direction of the Finance department and take over the department in the Financial Controller’s absence.
Assisting in ensuring appropriate standards for dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture and conduct of the Finance department.
Assisting in the compilation of budgets and other
Makes sure that all finance staff are honest and accurate relating to cash goods and security controls.
Helps to account for the Hotel’s assets and inventory at all times.
Assisting in liaising with the Front Office Manager regarding standards of Night Auditors and front office agents and with the F&B Service Manager regarding standards of food and beverage staff handling cash.
To be involved in budgeting, forecasting and monitoring all the departments concerned.
Dealing with miscellaneous enquiries from other departments.
Supervise and control the department’s activities and getting directly involved to solve any problems that may crop up.
Delegate work to achieve an efficient and effective distribution of the workload and flexibility with an aim to improve the performance of my subordinates and maintain discipline and order.
Look for ways and means on how to improve on the present system.
Seek and follow the advice of superiors when this is deemed necessary.
Ascertains that all matters regarding accounts remain of a confidential nature.
Has a thorough knowledge of the hotel’s Evacuation Plan and is prepared to implement assigned tasks during emergencies, such as fires, power outages and bomb threats.
Ensures that the standard telephone procedure is adhered to.
Take environmentally friendly initiatives such as using recycling paper for internal use.
Comply with Company Grooming Standards.
Comply with Time and Attendance Policies.
Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self development.
Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including being attentive to Guests.
Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests.
Anticipate Guests needs.
Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience
Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude
Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
Ensure all security incidents, accidents are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your manager.
Be aware of the hotel’s conservation and energy saving policies.
Meets any other request as directed by the Financial Controller or the General Manager.
Advanced level of education in Accounting.
Minimum 7 ACCA Certification exams completed.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Basic computer skills are essential for this position.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Maltese.
Good knowledge of Opera would be considered an asset.
A generous offer, between 25K and 30K will be given to the selected candidate depending on experience.
