The Client
Our client in the Financial Services is seeking a Compliance & MLRO Officer to join their company.

Main Duties

Create, upgrade and implement policies and procedures to promote compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Review agreements to make sure that they carry requirements under banking rules
Monitor each area of the company’s business to verify that it is in accordance to the regulations and need to carry out checks accordingly
Report quarterly to the Board and regulatory groups
Advise the Board to the funds position falling below the requirements
Report any suspicious transactions to the MFSA and FIAU even if the transaction is not carried out
Prepare a compliance register and executing a compliance programme
Monitor onboarding and account maintenance of lending, deposits and current account clients’ processes to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures
Manage STRs, submissions and correspondence to regulators and implementing anti-money laundering procedures for the company
Monitor and assist in internal and external audits and investigation
Be involved in other committees as applicable and assisting the Senior Management in taking proper and timely decisions

Requirements

Degree in either Law, Banking and Finance
2-3 years experience in financial services regulations and compliance matters
PQ’d by the MFSA
Expertise in AML related regulations
Excellent communication and writing skills
Fluency in English (Maltese would be an asset)

Candidate must be eligible to work in EU
